ReplyDeleteYES YES YES !!!
DeleteTHis is going to be good!
ReplyDeleteno daft punk no care.....
ReplyDeletelol jk jk
Yeahhhh here we go again!
ReplyDeleteDLB - can you explain your reasoning behind no SHM this year? Reallly was praying for them again.
NO TIESTO?
ReplyDeleteIt's in red dude... Smh
DeleteThis would be a really weak lineup compared to Ultra.... no armin, no shm, no tiesto, no gareth emery, no above & beyond....
ReplyDeleteshm isnt playing ultra dummy
DeleteTo each their own, Most those artists have been recycled by Insomniac so much now, it's a good time to invest in newer talent.
ReplyDeleteNo prydz?
ReplyDeletePrydz is scared of planes. he wont make it over here
ReplyDeletehe announced a North America tour so think again
Deletein fall of 2012. so think again
Deletei predict dirtylunchbox will inexplicably add and remove daft punk several times from his blog -_-
ReplyDelete^^^^hahahaha yes
ReplyDeleteNonsense!
ReplyDeleteSkream and Benga/Magnetic Man? Your thoughts on Danger? I would love to catch Gareth Emery.
ReplyDeleteHere we go again http://consequenceofsound.net/2012/02/nile-rodgers-confirms-daft-punk-collaboration/
ReplyDeleteA bunch of retreads. They need to move it back to L.A. Vegas sucked!
ReplyDeleteyou are insane if you thought edc vegas sucked...i guess the 300,000 people that are going this year arent gonna have a good time
Deleteinsomniac is only selling 100,000 tickets and you can only buy a 3 day tickets. the 300k came from all 100k people who will have ticket over 3 days.
DeleteAngger Dimas is confirmed via twitter
ReplyDeleteSkream & Benga announced on their 2012 US tour that they would bring UK Bass acts with them. I think the Dubstep stage this year without a question will have unfamiliar names for most. I cant see Skream & Benga not stopping at EDC during their tour... Least thats what Im hoping for. Orjan Nilsen? Hope that pulls through, that would be dope. Glad to see the blog back mate, any info I come across ill share. 4 more months
ReplyDeleteThanks, any info helps! :)
ReplyDeleteaphex twin a real possibility
ReplyDeleteArmin van Buuren is having a U.S. tour in May and June so he could be a possibility for EDC...
ReplyDeleteI was kind of iffy my predictions would be the headliners, but from the info I gathered that seemed to be the only plausible ones. But thanks for the info, if he really is it's most likely he would close the headliner gap.
ReplyDeleteis Zed's Dead likely? I think so.
ReplyDeleteMiike Snow
ReplyDeleteERIC PRYDZ!!!!!!
ReplyDeletenegative.
DeleteWhere did these new confirmations come from?
ReplyDeleteJVD-his facebook page, Felix Cartal from his agency.
ReplyDeletei hope arty makes an appearance this year
ReplyDeleteno chemical brothers? any reason why theyre excluded?
ReplyDeleteAny truths to the confirmed list on this site?
ReplyDeletehttp://musicalertsnow.com/2012/edc-2012-rumors-and-truths/
^^^^^
ReplyDeleteI was getting excited about this list until I saw Eric Prydz at the bottom. LOL.
Only can confirm where there sources are cited. Can't fully confirm the credible sources yet. I'll look into some of their "truth" names though.
ReplyDeleteUMEK is showing EDC on his calendar now!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.umek.si/en/dates
JOACHIM GARRAUD will also be at EDC LV
ReplyDeletehttp://www.joachimgarraud.com/web/index.php?p=lives
Updated. thanks guys! I'm pretty busy with school so I don't have much time to find who's confirmed and what not, I appreciate you guys looking.
ReplyDeleteIs this enough to confirm him?
ReplyDeletehttp://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/electric-daisy-carnivals-las-vegas-205873
on Afrojack-The DJ-producer’s slot was a highlight of the fest, proving he may well be one of the top draws next year.
that article was posted on 6/27/11.
Deletewheres benassi?
ReplyDeleteYet another artist found performing at EDC LV, DAVE CLARKE
ReplyDeletehttp://www.thebullittagency.com/#!/event/view/id/1268
Benassi has been there for the past 4 years -__- he better not be there again.
ReplyDeleteI've still never heard Benassi live, I hope he's there, his set from EDC 2011 was so good!
DeleteEMALKAY confirmed for EDC LV
ReplyDeletehttp://www.facebook.com/emalkayofficial?sk=info
Icicle, popof, Carl cox, and Wilkinson...Pssh soooold
ReplyDeletecarl cox and friends stage would be a nice change
Deletehttp://www.rockness.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Metro_ad_020312.jpg these people aren't going to edc :/
ReplyDeleteNot necessarily since Dave Clarke is going to be at this event and EDC LV, so there is a possibility of some of these artist performing at EDC LV as well.
DeleteFUNTCASE confirmed for EDC LV
ReplyDeletehttp://www.circus-records.co.uk/artists/funtcase.html
Only because it's in a different continent doesn't mean some artists won't fly out here for EDC, example: Dave Clarke is confirmed and playing Rock Ness on Friday.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Cookie Monsta is confirmed for Audiotistic this year
ReplyDeleteIt says Audiotistic for fri and sat hmmmm I wonder if they're making audio two days this year.
DeleteWill E.D.C. be better this year?
ReplyDeletebigger and better every year it seems
DeleteJorn Van Deynhoven is a nice addition so far. Looking forward to the next couple months of fun around here, things are bound to get as hostile as last year, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteYou got that right! I'm surprised these many names have been confirmed so far, it's not until April that we start finding this amount. Maybe the lineup will drop sooner than last year?
ReplyDeleteHeadliners coming out any day now, right?
ReplyDeletethey will probably hand out a flyer at beyond
DeleteSadly, they didn't...
DeleteChemical Brothers please
ReplyDeleteKaskade seems pretty confirmable.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150741055523973&set=a.186602423972.157069.61011643972&type=1&theater
Blank around E.D.C. L.V. dates.
and hes playing at marquee on june 9th...so hell be in/around vegas that wknd
DeleteHoping he won't be there, he's a waste of mainstage space
ReplyDeleteTritonal said that they're signed on for two BIG Insomniac events on Facebook about two weeks ago, so my guess is they're confirmed.
ReplyDeleteYou think they are gonna make us wait until June again to see the lineup even though the show almost a full month earlier?
ReplyDeleteAlso, do you really think Avicci has reached headliner status? I know his jam blew up but I would be kinda surprised if they couldn't pull a bigger name.
^completely agree about Avicci, he'd be nice to see but as a headliner i hope not. would love to see chase & status make an appearance as well as black sun empire
ReplyDeleteDoes this hold any weight DLB? is there any way you can confirm this?
ReplyDeletehttp://www.reddit.com/r/electricdaisycarnival/comments/r5m50/flux_pavillion_confirmed/
I agree that he doesn't deserve headliner status for EDC, but reality is he's blown up fast as Skrillex and Deadmau5 (look at where they're billed at every festival) and with his song reaching mainstream status and having one of the largest crowds for his set last year, he's at the top of the world right now. There's only a few djs that can be above him billing wise, and those djs aren't going to be at EDC this year so that leaves him to fill that slot. We already seen him headline Nocturnal's first day. Unlike European festivals, American edm festivals' headliners cater to what's popular, as we have seen with past Insomniac events and UMF with billing Fatboy slim under Avicii this year. It only makes sense to put the hottest name in dance music as the third headliner for EDC this year. To further prove that he's the most possible candidate for the top spot, here's some well known festivals he's billed on top of other famous djs. Hell, I wouldn't doubt if Skrilley plays mainstage this year as well.
ReplyDeleteCoachella 2012
Creamfields 2012
Ultramusicfestival 2012
Dance Valley 2011.
And yeah, Flux is confirmed. Post is true.
ReplyDeleteFLUX! YEEUH! was bummed out last year when he got yanked. hope it goes through this year. a B2B w/ Doctor P would be bangin
ReplyDeleteKaskade confirmed to perform at Marquee LV 6/09/12
ReplyDeleteLooks like he's pretty much confirmed then. I won't put it until it's on his dates though, some people get mad if I put them as confirmed and they don't see solid proof, but it's a dead giveaway.
ReplyDeleteBassnectar has in his tour dates that he is PLaying EDC NY.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.bassnectar.net/tour/
And a gap in tour dates around vegas.
And he said this on his facebook page on March 8th:
"LAS VEGAS: Thanks for being a part of what is now a rare experience: playing a set from a DJ booth! Blast from the past! Had a great time, and I'll see you again this summer!"
http://www.facebook.com/Bassnectar
Seeings how he RARLEY plays club gigs, im sure he was talking about EDC. plus he is notorious for leaking things like that :)
P.S. Glad your doing this blog again this year!!
i was at that Bassnectar show at Rain. it was AWESOME! and i do believe too that he was talking bout EDC. PLUS!
ReplyDeleteAutoerotique confirmed.
ReplyDeletehttps://twitter.com/#!/autoerotique/status/182623613936074754
Did the mau5 and Insomniac have some type of falling out? I have a vague memory of an article from a while back saying they did but it could just be my mind making shit up. He hasn't been at one of their massives since EDC 2010, right? Not a huge deadmau5 fan myself so I don't really mind but I was just wondering why it's been so long since he's been booked
ReplyDeleteyes I remember reading something about him hating on Insomniac a while ago.
DeleteWho doesn't he hate on? He's an egotistical douche.
DeleteWith the growing popularity of EDM, some DJ's are getting full of themselves, and would prefer to do their own shows so they can make more money.
probably because deadmau5 edc 2010 set was terrible and blamed the guys at insomniac for it...
DeleteMau5 was talking shit about Ultra, not sure about EDC
ReplyDeleteIf anyone is watching UMF live stream, you could see exactly why Avicii will most likely be the headliner this year.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how this Rotella controversy will affect when the lineup/headliners are released. Last month he tweeted that EDC headliners would be released mid-March. Since the scandal, he's been completely off the grid on Twitter so obviously he has bigger things on his mind.
ReplyDeletewell hes back now, haha
Deletemanufactured superstars and mat zo confirmed.
ReplyDeleteSource for Mat Zo?
Deletehe said it on armani exchanges youtube channel over wmc.
Deleteread that article too, it was about American festivals with UMF being the main target. Either way though, like someone said before, that dude can sellout a venue here in LA 5 days straight. I don't blame him for rather doing that than a festival.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, with the confirmed artists so far, it looks like we're going to have a lot of repeats. That's the downside to these festivals getting big, they eventually start running out of new names to book and have to repeat them a lot since getting new small names won't be a big of a draw. When it's all said and done, no matter how many repeats, most will still think it's "epic" lol
Link to Mat Zo?????
ReplyDeleteMat Zo?!?!
ReplyDeleteWhy did you take the bloody beetroots down?? they could still play at EDC!!!
ReplyDeletedubfire tweeted this on 3/20
ReplyDelete"Tonite i'm going to plant little underground techno/house seeds in Vegas. Let's see what happens in 3 months @chateaulv"
guessing that means hell be coming back for edc
Nicole Moudaber confirmed for EDC LV & EDC NY
ReplyDeletehttp://www.facebook.com/officialpage/app_178091127385
nice...looks to be having a proper techno stage finally
DeleteModestep confirmed for EDC LV
ReplyDeletehttp://www.facebook.com/modestep/events
100
ReplyDeleteok so techno is back at festivals... but where's the tech HOUSE??? love moudaber, dubfire, Umek but there better be some people like calderone, Boris, oscAr g, David Herrero, jay lumen... any of the good tech house DJs pleAaaaaaaase. there is so much new young talent no need to get repeAts. if I was in charge I'd get the biggest badass DJs on the planet.
ReplyDeleteavicii and afrojack should not headline....garbage
boris and victor calerone were at edc last year. they had really good sets but i dont think enough of the edc-goers even have a clue who they are as when they played they didnt really have a crowd. plus insomniac had them play very first set and very last set on their stages. not the best times for them. would like to see them again though...
Deletetrent cantrelles set last year from EDC was incredible... bring him back!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like Pasquale is looking to make a hardstyle stage, according to his Twitter page.
ReplyDeletePasquale Rotella
Plan is 2 have a branded stage at edclv dedicated 2 hardstyle but its not 100% done yet RT @XLicudine: that's gonna be great. Any timeline?
I don't expect anyone to take my word for it but I have learned that Swedish House Mafia will once again be headlining Sunday. I'm quite surprised but thrilled.
ReplyDeleteAnd I swear to god this isn't an April Fool's joke hahaha - just noticed the date :)
DeleteWe're going to have to know the source for that info if its true^
ReplyDeleteOriginally from an agent. A promoter friend of mine told me after he leaked it to him. That's as detailed as I can get and, like I said, I don't expect anyone to take my word for it but I can tell you that I personally believe it 100%.
DeleteHe also said Tritonal, Markus Schulz, John O'Callaghan, and Norin & Rad are playing Sunday, that he "thinks" Tiesto is headlining Friday again, and that Above & Beyond are playing somewhere on Saturday but it could be a dayclub or something.
So with this new hardstyle stage, I take it that means there's going to be 6 stages total now?
ReplyDelete"Swedish House Mafia will once again be headlining Sunday"
ReplyDelete"he "thinks" Tiesto is headlining Friday again"
I'm sorry not to be rude or to call you a liar but I highly doubt insomniac is gonna book the same people as headliners as last year. That would be an incredibly dumb move on their part. I think your promoter friend is pulling your leg...
Haha by all means! I didn't post that without knowing I'd get my ass handed to me from many here. I applaud you for being polite in doing so ;)
DeleteI think by booking SHM again, it doesn't matter if they book the "same" headliners. Most speculation didn't think SHM would come again with how big they continue to get. When you have a festival that has only one true "headliner" spot each day, you only really have a small handful of names to choose from. Tiesto, AVB, Guetta, SHM, deadmau5 - after that you're probably going to raise eyebrows. Think about it - respect for the old school aside - how many of us would be pissed if Fatboy Slim was one of three headliners?
I agree with DLB that Avicii warrants headliner status now, especially given that he's costing in excess of $100k these days (a competing promoter stole him away from my friend by giving him OVER $150k to play in an upcoming gig). You're able to book a somewhat questionable headliner like that by bookending him with two superstar acts that no one will ever complain about, including landing SHM again which is beginning to become EDC's signature and was thought to be a bit of a feat again this year. Logically, it makes perfect sense to me.
Even without that logic, I don't think it's unheard of for them to book 2/3 of the same headliners when it's widely known that Insomniac (both because of necessity and financial reasons) recycles acts again and again. I think most are already pretty surprised they're branching out with Hardstyle and, moreso for me, Techno.
He's definitely not pulling my leg so unless the agent is feeding him misinformation (which he thinks is 95% unlikely), I'd stake my reputation on it. ..... My reputation as an anonymous commenter on an EDC Predictions blog hahahaha. Believe what you want! If I were in your shoes I'd certainly be taking this with a massive grain of salt, if not completely disregarding it :)
Chuckie confirmed for Marquee, June 10th
ReplyDeletehttp://www.facebook.com/djchuckie/app_123966167614127
Also, Roger Sanchez confirmed for Palms pool party June 9th
Deletehttp://www.facebook.com/rogersanchezfanpage/events
Yet another name, Sebastien Leger is confirmed for EDC LV
Deletehttp://gigs.gigatools.com/venue/electric%20daisy%20carnival
Wolfgang Gartner, Dada Life, and Zedd all are playing starscape on june 9th... hopefully this doesn't mean they arnt coming to EDCVEGAS this year.
ReplyDeleteAlso, if those are the headliners, I would be truly pissed. Please don't pull some rookiness like ULTRA and give Avicii the Main Main (Saturday) headlining spot.
Tiesto SHM Armin.
Or double bill headliners. Tiesto/Avicii, SHM/A&B, Armin/Kaskade.
You made some good points, but why SHM for a third year straight? it wouldn't be a bad choice, but you would think with the resources they now have, that they would go with a different name they never booked, mainly Fatboy just to make up for EDC 09. I'm going to take it with a grain of salt for now, im still hoping they are going to surprise us and atleast double book headliners. But then again, it is believable considering how many artists they are bringing back for the 3-4th year straight.
ReplyDeleteThe thing is - I just feel like SHM isn't just another headliner, not right now. They're a draw that, in my mind, is unmatched right now (Daft Punk aside) and they don't cost an inordinate amount of money given their current popularity. It's not just that they're big, it's that they're exclusive. My friend has been trying to land them for two years, on and off, but they won't come to some city in Canada for one show, despite how we are (currently, although the city is trying hard to outlaw raves out so knock on wood) one of 2-3, if not THE EDM capital of the country. There was a huge push to get them for our inagural Elements Festival (24,000 people over two days, 3 arenas, 30 headliners - check it out, you'd be surprised how big the scene is up here) but even that wasn't big enough for them unless a dump truck full of money was backed up on their front lawn, well above their normal booking cost.
DeleteWhich is why I feel Insomniac will book them every year if they can and use them as EDCLV's **signature** artist. SHM headlining the last day of the festival. The draw to get all of those California kids to skip an extra day of school. The draw that they can claim sets them apart from UMF.
Double billing headliners is something I would expect this year, especially when you have names like Avicii, Kaskade, and Afrojack all likely playing and all held in such high regard by the more fairweather/new fans of the scene that it would add to the 'wow' factor. I sincerely hope, though, that they forego paying Guetta six figures and spend that on something better.
Ferry Corsten Sunday, Sasha Fri?
ReplyDeleteI found this article posted http://www.astralwerks.com/news/astralwerks-to-release-eric-prydz-presents-pryda-may-22nd/
ReplyDeletefrom the person who handles this site http://emeraldcityedm.com.
I know a lot of us have been waiting for him and this could be our shot. Doesn't specify when, could be for sensation for all we know but edc could be a good chance.
Yeeeeeeayah!!!!! Still hoping, still hoping...
DeletePRYDZ!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to get a little frustrated that headliners still haven't been announced, ~2 weeks after they were slated to be. Maybe I'm just sensitive after last year's debacle but if I remember correctly, they released the three names right around (or even at) Coachella last year so they're right on schedule except the festival is three weeks earlier this year. I was anticipating phases but the only way that happens now is if they release headliners + phase one in a week or two, followed by a second phase early to mid May but even that is almost as bad as last year. Does anyone remember what Rotella specifically said when he talked about how the lineup would be released much earlier this year? I can't remember where I read that.
ReplyDeleteAnd Eric Prydz - please god.
Dirtyphonics confirmed for the 10th via Facebook. Yes!
ReplyDeleteYou may be right, those are valid points again. I did feel they had the biggest crowd and they are more exclusive (aside from Prydz) than other big artists touring. The only way they would get away with bringing 2/3 of the headliners is double booking and bringing 2 new names we wouldn't guess, my personal guess would be fatboy and prydz. I don't think they'll be like UMF and bring old school acts like Kraftwerk, Orbital, New Order etc. What if they just bring them individually though? Axwell one day, Ingrosso the next? Angello's show at the Palladium seems to be too close to EDC and from the past, I don't recall anyone who has been booked so close to be booked for edc, I could be wrong though? Just seems to be lazy booking to me if they did.
ReplyDeleteThe headliners came out the weekend of Coachella. I think that's a perfect time to release them too since most the EDM artists are playing EDC a couple months later.
ReplyDeletelike i said before why did you take down the bloody beetroots?!?!?!?! THEY COULD STILL BE A EDC!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLiterally anyone could be at edc, I base my predictions on certain things. As you can see, i'm not always right, they could still play I just don't see it being possible with their French gigs going on that weekend. That's just me though, we'll see.
ReplyDeleteyeah your right!!! but still i think they left the 8th open just for EDC!!!!!
DeleteWe will be having 7 separate stages this year. Each stage will be have a sponsored host. This year you can expect a techno stage all three days, a live stage,a hard-style stage and various other stages sponsored by the likes of Dim-Mak, Group Therapy, Superyou & Me, Size Matters, and a few other surprises. Be on the lookout for double billed headliners being released soon. Only 30% of three day passes are still available for purchase and are going fast on groovetickets.com.We still have a limited number of hotel packages available for EDC 2012, read about it here http://insomniac.com/newsDetails.php?news=196. See you in June!
ReplyDeletevery good news that techno stages will be there all 3 days. 7 stages...this is looking to top umf by a lot. just release those damn headliners!
DeleteIf this is really from Insomniac, then Steve Aoki, Above and Beyond, Laidback Luke, and Steve Angello have all been confirmed. Probably artists like Arty and Mat Zo will be at Group Therapy, and Thomas Gold and AN21 & Max Vangeli for Size Matters, not sure who would be at Dim Mak or Super You & Me.
DeleteAoki already confirmed himself a while ago
DeleteSo that means those dome stages by the trance stage is going to be back?
ReplyDeleteSomeone is trolling as Insomniac Events up above. Ain't cool dude.
ReplyDeleteThere's really no reason to believe that is truly from Insomniac other than the fact that they're promoting the hotel packages, although that's probably a great indication and it sounds legitimate. Still, for them to come post previously unknown information on a blog somewhere... Has anyone found this info elsewhere?
ReplyDeleteI'm having a tough time sorting out how the setup would work. The sponsored stages would have to be shared over the 3 days. I also don't see there being enough live or hardstyle acts to fill an entire stage for three days long so I'm guessing they'd split the days, or even split from early on to later in the night.
1 - Main
2 - Techno
3 - Live / Hardstyle / ?
4 - Basspod
5 - Size Matters / Super You & Me / Dim Mak
6 - Group Therapy / ? / ?
7 - Neon Garden?
Thoughts, anyone and everyone?
ya but i remember reading a tweet from pasquale saying that edc had 30% tickets left like 2mo ago...
Delete^^NotCool@All!
ReplyDeleteCall me crazy, but I see PVD coming back.
ReplyDeletePasquale just tweeted of a big announcement coming tomorrow. That post now seems to have more potential for being legitimate.
ReplyDeleteWith an (imo) weak headlining of avicii skrillex and guetta at tomorrowland. This could be the year insomniac decides to go all out (like TL last year) and win that idma award.
ReplyDeleteA seven stage event with, particularly with one dedicated to anjuna, super, and dim mak, would certainly do that. With this I wouldn't even be pissed about avicii taking the mainliner saturday spot (well, maybe still a little).
The sponsored stages probably will be spread out throughout the weekend instead of having them all in one day, just like TL or Creamfields. Anyone else find it kind of dumb that they'll have a group therapy and Size Matters stage even though both hosts of those stages are having a show here in LA a few weeks prior? (that's if it's true) If the lineup gets released early, won't that affect ticket sales for the size matters show since most will wait. Also though, if they think it'll affect ticket sales it would make perfect sense if they do phases of the lineup, probably released the Size Matters and Group Therapy after those shows are over with?
ReplyDeleteGabriel & Dresden confirmed for Fri
ReplyDeleteI don't know exactly where you saw the link for that, but from what I see its only Josh Gabriel, which I got from amonly.com
DeleteEvery time Amonly has listed a gig for Josh Gabriel, it's been for both members. I don't recall any shows they've done solo since they got back together. I'm positive it's both members.
DeleteWhere is the source for G&D
ReplyDeleteDouble billed who I think will be considered the headliners. This sounds strange and i'm very hesitant on putting it because I know there's going to be a lot of opposition, but I believe Skrllex can very well be one of the 6 headliners...He's headlining above established bands like Incubus, he has the status to do it now. I don't think he's going to perform all those days at Banoo, Vegas isn't that far...
ReplyDeleteno he doesnt and is no where near or will ever be considered a headliner at a major festival like edc. that would be disrespectful to the other real djs, insomniac wouldnt do that.
DeleteAre you kidding me? The guy just won 3 Grammies and when he was on a side stage at EDC last year he had a bigger crowd than A&B at the main stage. Don't think anyone else was able to do that.
DeleteThe argument isn't if he's capable, it's if he will be considered a headliner on the poster. If he is one of the headliners, he'll be the first dubstep/brostep whatever you want to call it, artist to headline EDC. That's what a lot of people will have a hard time accepting.
DeleteTomororow we get either a phase 1 or headliners, by the way do you have the link for Gaberiel and Dresden?
ReplyDeleteHe is headling Bamboozle and SW4 in the UK above Prydz and he was very high on UMF's lineup, even getting mainstage. I don't agree with it but this guy is huge.
ReplyDeleteI would not be surprised at all if Skrillex was one of the 6 over someone like Afrojack or Kaskade. He is headlining Tomorrowland and had a huge crowd last year even though he played at the same time as Guetta. He has a lot of haters but that's because of how popular he is. If he is there again this year, haters or not, he will have one of the biggest crowds again.
Deletesadly because he doesnt even dj and his productions are whatever bro step. just the new generation of kids follow him.
DeleteSpeaking of Prydz, he made a comment on twitter about being afraid to fly and when asked if he was going to be playing only UK shows this summer, he replied "no im not even in Europe this summer.." here's hoping that more evidence of a U.S. trip including EDC
ReplyDeleteprydz has posted his north american tour taking place fall 2012

ReplyDeleteWOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
The initial lineup is staggering: Tiësto, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, Avicii, Benny Benassi, Kaskade, Afrojack, Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren, Bassnectar, Calvin Harris, Carl Cox, Chase & Status, David Guetta, Erick Morillo, Flux Pavillion, Kaskade, Knife Party, Porter Robinson and Richie Hawtin are among those set to touch down in Vegas June 8 to 10.
ReplyDeleteI wish they'd release a true phase one like Ezoo.
ReplyDeleteAlso now a little less convinced about my insider info. What are the odds they would hold back announcing SHM until later?
Kind of disappointed phase one including a lot of repeats... only excited for the addition of Carl Cox finally.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised I got 5/6 of the min headliners though, guess that insomniac comment was legit afterall.
If you compare this lineup to Ultra or tomorrowland... its better.
ReplyDeleteThis years going to be the biggest and baddest ever. I have a feeling they'll get fatboy slim anyhow on top. this is just the top of the iceberg.
Well of course the phase 1 stuff is going to be repeats. The entire purpose of phase 1 is to bring in the mainstream clientele, so they stick you with the big names.
ReplyDeleteI'd say this start is off better then EZoo, that lineup is poop IMO.
Also to keep in mind, that Insomniac hasn't officially released anything yet.....
ReplyDeletethis is an MTV reporter obviously picking out his/her artists to highlight. By the looks of it though, EDC is doing it MASSIVE this year, so I think by phase 2/3 everyone will be more than excited.
MTV reporter? The video clearly shows Pasquale annnouncing most of the lineup.
ReplyDeletehaha I didn't see the video. regardless. how can anyone complain about this initial lineup? rookies can go see a deadmau5/skrillex show on their next 100 city tour.
ReplyDeleteThis will get beefed up with LL, Wolfgang Gartner, Hardwell, Dada life, dirty south, etc. +techno/hardstyle/more trance. dono what else you'll need.
Catch a BEP show before hand.
How are you going to say rookies can go see a deadau5/skrilly show then name other just as mainstream names right after? LOL
Deletemau5/skrillex are CLEARLY way more mainstream.
Deleteand i wasnt comparing mainstream vs. not mainstream
I was comparing overrated music vs. good music
all hail THE DECIDER of good music vs overrated music. please tell me what to listen to some more, you are clearly the last and final word on good music.
DeleteRight because David Guetta and Tiesto aren't mainstream at all. Neither of them has ever made a cheesy-poppy-radio-friendly song.
DeletePeople are disappointed because it's the same thing as last year and there isn't much variety. Duh we're going to get more names but this is fairly underwhelming so far.
Well last year had over 140+ acts, there's still over a hundred to be revealed. Crossing my fingers that they won't repeat acts throughout the weekend again..There's no need to have Afrojack or Dadalife playing the same set twice in one weekend.
ReplyDeleteJust caught this, "With awe-inspiring pyrotechnics, art installations and a singular carnival culture, EDC has become the Super Bowl of the dance music world. Dance superstars will take to three main stages built on 1,000 acres of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway's infield."
ReplyDelete3 mainstages?
Damn. Three mainstages? I guess this years EDC is gonna be one for the books. :)
Deletedlb, just fyi you forgot to put Above and Beyond under your confirmed list.
ReplyDeleteGot it, Thanks!
ReplyDeleteDoes Swedish House Mafia think they're too good or something? EDC arguably made them as big as they are. Their set in LA in 2010 blew them up and their set in LV last year was the most crowded of the whole weekend. Can't believe they'll play solo sets but not as the trio.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe Pasqual and Insomniac are actually letting angello step foot at an insomniac event after beyond wonderland. He didnt even play A SONG. All recorded and faking it. WTF
Deleteumm...angello wasn't even at beyond
DeleteTritonal is essentially confirmed in a facebook post, they posted the lineup announcement and stated: "who's coming"
ReplyDeleteDOES THIS MEAN NO AXWELL???? I'd rather see him out of the three.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit, that Insomniac Events guy that posted in here was real-deal.
ReplyDeletehttp://insomniac.com/newsDetails.php?news=206
ReplyDeleteThe rest of the lineup.
This lineup is epic. Rank 1 live? I'd never have thought to see that in the US.
ReplyDeleteVery good line up! Doctor P and Flux!
ReplyDeleteThere is def more names to be released, there's 139 (which coincides how many I predicted this year) but with 2 new stages spread out on 3 days, and each stage average about 6-7, thats around 35-42 artists left. We already know some djs, like Roger Sanchez are playing in vegas, so im sure he would be on the next phase.
ReplyDeleteDave Clarke, Sebastian Leger, Jorn Van Deynhoven, Autoerotique are all confirmed but not included in the poster, there's still many names TBA
ReplyDeleteHoping to see SHM, Skrillex, Deniz Koyu, and Dillon Francis!!
ReplyDeleteCMON PRYDZ!!
ReplyDeleteAgreed on Koyu, guy is a beast! would go great if Fedde hosted his own stage with him on it. Sasha is also in SF that weekend, a highly likely chance he'll drop by.
ReplyDeletefully confirmed artist this is just the start

DeleteSwedish House Mafia just announced that they "cannot not miss Tomorrowland"...I think this may mean they'll do the same for EDC. How can they miss it? Those have been 2 of the biggest gigs they've ever had. Maybe Insomniac is planning to announce one more crazy headliner for each day, like SHM, Skrillex, and one more. I think that may very well be the case.
ReplyDeletethe fuck cares SHM was too packed and Skrillex.. i mean seriously u get a lineup that good and ur worried about skrillex?
ReplyDeleteDon't you think that to throw the biggest EDM festival they should have arguably the two most demanded artists there are? Don't get me wrong this lineup is fucking amazing. But seeing Skrillex and SHM not there after they had the two biggest sets at last year's festival just makes it seem like something is missing.
Deleteyou got guys like carl cox, john digweed, richie hawtin, and danny tenaglia playing. real djs who actually embrace real dance music and were the guys that made half the edc line up want to become djs in the first place...yet people are biting their nails, worried about skrillex and shm not being able to make it.
Deletealso wait for phase 2 before anything is official
you guys think the chemical brothers can be there. they are going to be in japan on the 2nd for beach festival
ReplyDeletepossible...but doubtful. they are headline guys
ReplyDeletePlastikman was pretty dope last year. Is Enter a new thing for Richie or does anyone know what thats all about? Sounds promising.
